1. WHO WE ARE This Privacy Notice applies to The Quarantine Zone DayZ Community ("we," "us," "our"). We act as the Data Controller for the personal information you provide when using our game servers, Discord server, or donation store.

2. DATA WE COLLECT To operate our servers and process your requests, we collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Technical Identifiers: Your Steam64 ID, Discord User ID, and IP address.
  • Transaction Data: PayPal Transaction IDs, date of purchase, and items purchased. (Note: We do not see or store your credit card numbers; these are handled entirely by PayPal).
  • Game Data: Chat logs, kill logs, connection history, and in-game location data.

3. WHY WE COLLECT YOUR DATA (LAWFUL BASIS) Under UK GDPR, we process your data under the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: We need your Steam ID and Payment confirmation to deliver the items/services you purchased (e.g., to add you to the Priority Queue).
  • Legitimate Interest: We log IP addresses and connection data to secure our server against cheaters, ban evaders, and DDoS attacks.
  • Legal Obligation: We must keep records of financial transactions for tax and accounting purposes (HMRC).

4. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH We do not sell your data. We only share data with the essential third-party services required to run the server:

  • PayPal: To process payments.
  • CFTools Cloud: To manage server administration, bans, and priority queues. Your Steam ID and IP address are processed by CFTools to prevent ban evasion.
  • Bohemia Interactive: In rare cases of severe Terms of Service violations, data may be shared with the game developers.

5. DATA RETENTION

  • Transaction Records: Kept for 6 years to comply with UK tax laws.
  • Server Logs: Chat and connection logs are automatically deleted after 30-90 days (depending on server settings).
  • Ban Records: Permanent bans (Steam IDs) are retained indefinitely to protect the community integrity.

6. YOUR RIGHTS Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request Access: Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Request Deletion: Ask us to delete your data. Note: We cannot delete transaction records required for tax purposes or ban records if you have violated server rules.
  • Object: You can object to us processing your data, though this may result in us being unable to provide you with access to the server.
